Zookeeper talks to chimp over video call
After five months apart, a Zookeeper at Twycross Zoo in Leicester, England decided to talk to one of her chimps, Janette. They did it over a video call last week and decided to catch up on a few things. She talked to her about what she’s been doing and introduced her new baby son. The chimp recognised her and seemed to smile at the baby. Zookeeper Lainy said "I would usually spend more time with these animals than I do with my own family so I care very much about them."

Pandas make early return to China

Two pandas at Calgary Zoo in Canada will be going back to China because of a food shortage. The pandas, Er Shun and Da Mao, usually eat bamboo that is imported from China but because of the Coronavirus outbreak some flights around the world have been cancelled meaning the Zoo is running out of food. The pandas eat around 40 kilograms of bamboo every day so they decided to ship the pandas back to China where there is lots of bamboo to eat.
